When I press Hold on my Grandstream or Cisco phone, why can't I pick it up at a different location?

Pressing Hold on your phone puts the call on a local hold.  That means you can only place them on hold, and then go back to the party on the same phone.  If you require answering calls on a different phone you need to inquire about Park Keys for your phones.  Otherwise, transfer the call to another extension if it needs to be taken at a different phone.

How do I re-record the Auto Attendant/Digital Receptionist Greeting people hear when they call my company?

To re-record the Auto Attendant/Digital Receptionist in your own voice or that of another person, you will need to open a support ticket to advise us of the update, and then call into our voicemail to record the greeting.

First make a list of the options you want, only 1 through 9 are available, usually 8 is reserved for a dial by last name directory if you have your own instance.

Second, send this list (send to: support@daiscorp.com)  and the request to update to us so we can ensure it matches the programming in our system.

Example:

1 transfer to: ex 2222

2 transfer to: extension 3333

3 transfers to: extension 4444

8 goes to: dial by last name directory

pressing nothing(Timeout after 5 seconds)  and letting the message ends goes to: general mailbox

after sending us the request to update and the listed options please call 925-933-3247

Press option 4(it’s not listed in the auto attendant greeting)

once you can leave a message, begin speaking as if you are recording the greeting as you want it to play(once you reach the end of your greeting hang-up by pressing the hang-up button on the phone, don’t just hang-up) this will prevent that funny hang-up noise at the end of your greeting, if you mess up at anytime you can press # then 1 to re-record then hang-up again.

Thats it! Most updates received during normal business hours should be updated by the next business day

How do I initiate a 3 Party Conference Call?

OK, but can I create a conference bridge I can have people dial into?(Instance users Only)

If you wish to setup a call conference directly from your phone, you will need to inform the other participants of conference ID and the number they would need to dial. For example, internal callers will need to dial 700 but external participants will need to dial 700 at the Auto Attendant menu or be transferred to 700 by a receptionist. After that they need to enter the conference ID that you specified for the conference call. The following steps illustrate how to set up a call directly from your desk phone:

Dial the conference extension number, by default this is 700.

You will be requested to enter a conference ID. This can be any number, for example ‘100’ and will be unique identifier for that specific conference session. If the administrator has configured the phone system to require a security PIN to create a call conference, you must enter it after the conference ID, separated by a *, for example: 100*0000 (where 100 is the conference ID and 0000 the system wide conference PIN). The PIN is only required by the person setting the conference.

If you are the first participant, the conference interface will ask you to confirm creation of the conference. Press * to confirm or # to cancel.

You will be asked to speak your name after the beep and press a button to continue.

All callers who wish to join the conference must first dial 700 to enter the conference menu and then further specify the same conference ID to join a conference or enter a new ID to create a new conference.

You will now enter the conference. If you are the first caller, you will hear music on hold, while you wait for the other callers. As soon as another caller joins, his name will be announced.
